Until the Dicken Dash!
This energetic event is enjoyed by students, teachers and families alike. Please join us on Friday, October 3rd to root for your favorite Dicken Dolphins to run as many quarter-mile laps as they can in just 15 minutes.
This annual fundraiser is an opportunity to nurture healthy habits, celebrate personal growth, showcase school spirit, and witness the power of combined giving. This year, the Dash will be the only major fundraiser. Each and every donation, no matter how big or small, is vital to fund the PTO’s priorities during the 2025-2026 school year.

Academic Achievement
New books for each student during March is Reading Month, in-school performances and assemblies, field trips, Super Science Day, WESO (Science Olympiad), and teacher stipends.
School Improvement
Teacher grants, updating the Staff Lounge, and keeping the supply closet stocked with necessary items (such as wipes, facial tissue, paper towel, printer paper, and classroom supplies).
Student & Community Support
Family events (like the Pumpkin Patch, Ice Cream Social and Winter Walk), yearbooks for all students, the 5th grade promotion event, healthy snacks for students in the office, and extra winter outerwear for students.
PTO Grants
Decodable readers for early elementary students, cursive curriculum for the 4th graders, and the Mystery Science curriculum that supplements 75% of Dicken classrooms.
To prepare for the Dash, students train in gym class and with the Dicken Running Club. Classrooms write and choreograph chants, choose walk-out hype songs, come up with clever team names, or even wearing matches costumes. To build anticipation before the race, we’ll also have our first Spirit Week of the year!

The Dicken Run is a community event on Sunday, October 12th. The 5K course winds through the majestic streets around Dicken Elementary School. Come set a new PR or enjoy the scenery with friends on one of the fastest courses this side of the Huron River! Why not just bring the whole family to enjoy a healthy outdoor activity together? Proceeds from race registrations are donated to the Dicken Elementary PTO, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
